Bentonite is a natural mineral soil, the main component of which is montmorillonite-based clay minerals. It is volcanic ash produced by volcanic eruptions, and bentonite deposits are formed after temperature, pressure and metamorphic time. The types of bentonite are mainly divided into sodium-based bentonite and calcium-based bentonite. Among them, high-quality sodium-based bentonite has three characteristics: high swelling, low water permeability and self-healing function, so it is widely used in various anti-seepage fields.
Application
Waterproof and impermeable bentonite clay is suitable for landfill seepage prevention, riverside dike waterproofing, pond laying water barrier, railway station engineering seepage prevention and foundation waterproof and seepage prevention of various buildings.
Product performance:
(1) High expansion: bentonite expands at least 12 times after contact with water, reaching 25 times that of ASTM D5890.
(2) Low water permeability: The water permeability is only 5 X 10-9cm/sec, which meets the ASTM D 5887 standard.
(3) Self-healing function: bentonite will become a gel when exposed to water, and can fill cracks and gaps. The overlap method is a direct overlap and therefore resistant to uneven geological settlement. It has high cost performance and can be widely used in various waterproof and anti-seepage projects.
